Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 5K – Anaheim Jan. 9
January 9, 2019 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! To honor law enforcement we are hosting a virtual race. We will be donating at least 15% of every registration to Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), whose mission is “Rebuilding shattered lives of survivors and co-workers affected by line of duty deaths, through partnerships with law enforcement and the community.”
Rock it in Aliso & Wood Canyons 5K and 17K Trail Race Jan. 12
The 5K is a fast out and back course along the Aliso Creek Trail (East) to Wood Canyon. The 17K (yes 17K, almost 11 miles) offers a few challenging climbs, including Rock it Trail, technical terrain, and nice long flat stretches. Both distances are almost entirely on trails except for one brief paved road crossing.
Irvine Half Marathon Jan. 12
Formerly known as the Southern California Half & 5K, the Irvine Half Marathon is taking place on Saturday, January 12. The race will begin at 20 Lakeview Drive and will conclude at Mike Ward Park. https://www.irvinehalf.com/
Super Warrior 5K Jan. 17
The Super Warrior 5K, is hosted by Stripes of a Warrior, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that originated in Anaheim, California. It will be held at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim Hills. Our mission is to help cancer Warriors FIGHT cancer financially. We provide financial assistance to those that have been diagnosed with cancer and are unable to afford their medical bills, housing, medication, or food expenses, etc.
Amigo Guitar Show Jan. 26-27
This tradeshow has tons of international appeal with vintage, new and rare products. Attendees may bring their own items too the show to sell and trade.
Gray Whale Migration Off Newport Beach Winter/Spring Through April
The Gray Whale makes the most spectacular and longest mass migration of any marine mammal. Tens of thousands of gray whales migrate annually along the Newport/Laguna Beach coastline from the summer feeding grounds in the Bering Sea to the winter grounds of the Baja California lagoons and travel along the Newport Beach coast during the months of December, January, February, March, & April. During the gray whale migration it is not uncommon to view 5 or more gray whales a cruise making for excellent viewing opportunities.
