Children’s Activities include: Crafts Games Face Painting Entertainment Instructor Showcase – meet the Parks and Recreation class instructors “Touch a Truck” – kids will get to climb, work on and “drive” a fun work truck, including trash, fire, and Sheriff’s Department. The Easter Bunny will also be hopping around! Bring your own camera for pictures. Note: There WILL NOT be an egg hunt at this event. Food available for purchase. Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration Apr 22
The City of Mission Viejo will celebrate Earth Day & Arbor Day on Saturday, April 22, 2017, on Mustang Run at Los Alisos Boulevard from 8:00 a.m. to noon.  We’re looking for volunteers to plant drought-tolerant trees and shrubs and assist with litter clean up. A Green Expo will be held on Mustang Run from 8:00 a.m. to noon with free hotdogs and ice cream for participants (while supplies last).

Earth Day Celebration  Apr 22
“Go Green” and volunteer to plant, weed and clean up the Niguel Botanical Preserve. Celebrate Earth Day by giving back your time to improve the landscaping in our 18-acre preserve. Volunteers should wear old clothes, closed toed shoes, and be prepared to work in the soil! Drinking water and a light snack provided.

Pet Expo Apr 28-30
A giant animal entertainment and education festival. It’s the largest pet and pet product expo in the world. Over 1,000 animals will entertain you in stage shows, competitions and demonstrations including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, goats, pigs, llamas, rabbits, miniature horses and more. There will also be pet adoptions, pet products for sale, petting zoo, how-to workshops and advice from animal experts. It is presented by a nonprofit organization to promote responsible pet care. Walk MS  Apr 29
Fun, festival-like event including food, drink, entertainment and a 2 mile walk at UCI. The National MS Society’s mission is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. They are currently accepting registrations via, email, mail or over the telephone for this walk.

Dana Point Fine Arts Outdoor Art Show at 2017 Festival of Whales Mar 4
Dana Point Fine Arts Association, a nonprofit organization, will have their annual outdoor art show and sale during the Dana Point Harbor Festival of Whales will be from 9:30 AM to 5 PM at the Harbor Boardwalk along the boat docks in Mariner’s Village. Watercolor, oil, acrylic, colored pencil, pastel and photography by many award-winning local artists will be available for purchase. Dana Point Fine Arts annually donates a portion of the proceeds from the show to Dana Hills High School Art Department.

Orange County Heart & Stroke Walk  Mar 4
The American Heart Association will host a 5K timed run and 5k walk. Come take the first step towards a healthy lifestyle with activities for the whole family (four-legged friends included!). The annual Orange County Heart & Stroke Walk raises funds for research, and initiatives that promote prevention, treatment, community outreach and better patient care in areas related to heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

Swallows Day Parade & Mercado Mar 25
The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation’s largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am. The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional country music band.

Los Alamitos ‘Race on the Base’  Feb 24 & 25
The yearly event has continued to provide not only a forum for local avid runners and walkers, but has also instilled a sense of pride and teamwork between the Los Alamitos City Council, the citizens of Los Alamitos, the Rossmoor Community Services District, and the local business community. The race is held on the run ways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course.

Tons of the frosty stuff is delivered to the dam to enable youngsters to sled, make snow people, and have old-fashioned snowball battles. Children are advised to wear warm clothes and gloves. Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade  Dec 14-18
FREE to the public. The boat parade will light up the harbor for five consecutive nights. The parade starts at Collins Island at 6:30 p.m. and will last approximately three and a half hours over 250 ships participate in the parade along with hundreds of water front estates. Providing the backdrop for the parade is the Ring of Lights waterfront home and business decorating competition. FREE for spectators, entry fee for participating boats.
